About Me

My Photo
Hi there, my name is Claire, in June 2011 I moved to Tanzania, East Africa. For the first nine months I volunteered at a baby orphanage where I managed 36 staff and up to 54 babies. Within those nine months I became a Mummy to three very beautiful children, Selemani Adam who is three years old, Nancy Irene is two and B is 18 months, life is busy but full of fun. As from March 2012 myself and my partners Michael and Dorris Fortson are starting a baby home named Neema House. We plan start our work in rented accomodation whilst we buy and build a site, we plan to take in and care for abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable babies and hope to return them to their families as soon as possible.

Meet Grace K

Twice per week for the next 15 or so weeks will be a 'Meet...' blog. I will do a post, in no particular order, on a staff member so you can 'Meet' the wonderful people who take such amazing care of our babies day in and day out. I have asked all the staff who their favourite baby is, for most it was very difficult for them to pick just one but I insisted they had to choose more because I was interested to know.

Today it is meet Grace K who is a nanny.

Grace is 23 years old and has been working with us since we opened Neema House, she lives in Usa (about an hours journey each way for her) with her parents. Grace is quite a quiet worker but she is amazing with the children, she primarily works with the toddlers and you can see the love she has for them, you often see her reading stories, running after a cheeky child and dealing with a tantrum.

Grace says she likes working at Neema House because she loves the babies :-) We are so grateful to have Grace as part of our Neema Team, thanks Grace for all you do!!

Grace's favourite babies are Silvamus & Davis!
